This memorial is to men who were employed in the Goods Department of the London & North Western Railway.
The memorial is located inside the footbridge which links platform 1 to platform 2.

Reginald was born in Walsall in 1891 and his mother lived in Selbourne Street. He was married and lived with his wife Elizabeth at Cliffords Buildings, 22 Mill Street in the Heath End area of Pelsall. Reginald was employed as a goods porter. He had enlisted in The South Staffordshire Regiment at Wolverhampton on 14 August 1914 and served with the 7th (Service) Battalion. He received a bullet wound to his leg while serving in the line at Suvla Bay at Gallipoli in December 1915. Private Downing was evacuated to England and on his recovery was posted to the 1st Battalion in France, later transferring to the Machine Gun Corps. On 4 October 1917, his company was in support of 7th Division’s, with No. 2 Section providing close supporting fire to the 1st South Staffords. Reginald is also commemorated on the war memorial at Walsall Town Hall.
