John pictured with his older sister Emily Elsie Garfield. 

John was killed in action 10 April 1918 age 23. Son of Emily Garfield, of Penn, Wolverhampton, he was a Chorister at Penn Church.

He is buried in MESSINES RIDGE BRITISH CEMETERY Grave reference IV. D. 24.
